Three of FHS’s seniors signing for football scholarships on Wednesday, February 1st.  Dalton Simper signed with UWF, Zachary Seay with Birmingham Southern and Dylan Lewis with Huntingdon College (pictured left to right).  We are all so proud of you! Submitted by Celeste Goodwin.

30 A Artist and former students of Dr. Komando, Andy Saczynski and Lori Saczynski, visited the SWHS Art classes on Thursday. Andy spoke about his artwork and what inspires him to create. Lori spoke about Art careers and the business side of the Art world. It was an honor to have both take time to come and share with our students. Submitted by Vivian Komando.

WDE Literacy Week

During literacy week at WDE, some of the first grade classes encouraged reading by "reading outside for fun". Mrs. Melinda Bailey's & Mrs. Carla Sconiers' classes read outside after lunch on the playground. The students read independently and then completed AR quizzes on their chosen books. Ms. Cheatham's Information & Communication Technology classes are off to a great start! Congratulations to the following students for earning their first certificates in Word Processing Essentials.

South Walton High School football players congratulated Jireh and Jeremiah Crittenden.  The Crittenden brothers signed letters of commitment to play football at the University of Charleston. Submitted by Barbara Stratton.

Bay Elementary would like to congratulate the February Students of the Month. Reese Whitehead and Gip Crye have been selected to represent BES as the Kiwanis Students of the Month. Submitted by Cindy Stewart.

On January 31st, Dr. Alexis Tibbetts, SWHS Principal, and James Ross, SWHS Assistant Principal, facilitated a session on Courageous Conversations offered through the PAEC SAIL Academy.  This program is for those educators who wish to have Principalship added to their State of Florida teaching certificate. Some of the topics that participants learned about were classroom walk-throughs, reflective feedback and clarifying action steps.  This was a beneficial experience for those involved.
