won-one

Recognition Initiative

To continue Superintendent A. Russell Hughes’ 2023-2024 theme, “WON-ONE”, we are asking schools to nominate individuals who have done just that – WON-ONE!

Remember, there are many ways to win one.  The theme is getting a student on a trajectory to win, which can include:

·      the bus driver who mentors a child and helps lower behavior issues

·      the teacher who helps a child meet graduation requirements

·      the counselor who finds resources for a family

·      the assistant principal who solves a problem for children

All the different ways involve students, and all can be proven through data, information, and facts!

Anyone can complete a WON-ONE Recognition Form, and the form can be completed on behalf of any Walton County School District employee!  For example:

·      a teacher can nominate a custodian

·      a secretary can nominate a school nurse

·      a principal can nominate a staffing specialist

·      an assistant principal can nominate a maintenance worker

·      a teacher can nominate a teacher.

Everyone is included, because everyone has an opportunity to Win-One!

To get started, be on the lookout!  Once you view the Superintendent’s theme in action, please complete a WON-ONE Recognition Form (handwrite and scan or type and save), and submit the form to Won-One@walton.k12.fl.us.

Once received, a team will review the submission, and those who have demonstrated an EPIC WON-ONE will receive special recognition from Superintendent Hughes!  In addition to individual recognition, at least one outstanding WON-ONE nominee will be featured online each month.

Principals will also receive special recognition once 7 (6and1) of their employees receive WON-ONE recognitions!
