Mrs. Dickey's second grade class is currently exploring the difference between primary and secondary sources. To develop a better understanding of the distinction, the students have been split into groups and tasked with answering two questions: When did Florida become a state and When did Disney World open. After completing the research, each group will create an AVID One-Pager to present its findings to the rest of the class. This activity is providing students a greater appreciation for the different types of sources and for Florida history; it also helps students understand how to conduct research.
