Due to the weather conditions expected from Tropical Storm Helene, all Walton County schools will close Thursday, September 26th. Closures include both students and employees. Extracurricular activities and SPICE will also be closed. Tropical Storm Helene is currently predicted to make landfall in the Big Bend area of Florida on Thursday as a Category 3 hurricane. The track and severity of the storm can change, but based on current data from Emergency Management, Walton County is expected to experience tropical storm force winds and heavy rain. At this time, school is still planned for Wednesday, September 25th and Friday, September 27th; however, we will continue to monitor the weather with our local experts.
