Jessica Obert

Guidance Counselor - 11th & 12th Grade

Jessica Obert received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of West Florida. She earned her Master’s Degree in Guidance & Counseling from Troy University. Mrs. Obert is certified in all grades School Counseling. Mrs. Obert began her School Counseling career in 2006 and joined the FHS school family in 2009. She enjoys supporting students in their academic and emotional needs. Mrs. Obert is most passionate about assisting students with their postsecondary goals after school and takes great joy in seeing them succeed, whether it be college, vocational school, military or joining the work force.

Russell Phillips

Student Success Coach

Russell Phillips serves as the Student Success Coach at Freeport High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in Editing, Writing, and Media from Florida State University, along with a Master of Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. As an educator with eight years of experience, Mr. Phillips has taught subjects such as English, AP classes, and various reading courses spanning grades 6 through 12. As a proud alumnus of Freeport High School, he takes pride in his role of supporting students at all levels and contributing to the growth of the Freeport Community.

Mara

Mara Morse

Guidance Counselor - 9th & 10th Grade

Mara Morse a lifelong resident of Walton County, Florida received her bachelor's degree from Point University and her master's from Jacksonville State. After moving out of the area for college and the first few years of her professional life, she returned to her Walton County roots. Joining the Freeport High School staff in 2024, Ms. Morse enjoys helping freshmen and sophomore students navigate their first two years of high school and planning for their future. Ms. Morse is always available to assist students with their educational, social and emotional needs.
