Technology has become an integral part of not only the business functions of the school district but also the learning environment. Technology is used to support the curriculum and to provide enhanced learning experiences for all students. Technology is also integrated into the management of the classroom and the assessment of student progress.
The Technology Services Department of Walton County Schools provides, coordinates and supports a wide range of services and opportunities for the students and staff of the district. The department is responsible for installation, maintenance and on-going replacement of all desktop computers. It provides high-speed network access to the Internet, email and server-based applications. Network design, server configuration, software testing and deployment, help desk support, web development, Intranet applications, training, network security and cabling infrastructure are provided by technicians on staff.
